Unbeaten WA heavyweight Mark de Mori remains hopeful of getting a top 10 ranking after a second round knockout of Brisbane newcomer Steve Walker in Toowoomba on Saturday night.
The 22-year-old Gold Coast-based de Mori said three fighters had pulled out before Walker took the Toowoomba bout.
"I'm due to fight in Sydney on June 11 but my opponent Pat Kennedy has already pulled out," de Mori said yesterday. "I'm looking to fight better quality opponents to get a ranking so I can fight for the Australian heavyweight title."

Bugner, who won 69 of his 83 professional fights, including going the distance with Joe Frazier and twice against Muhammad Ali, believes he can help de Mori by sparring with him. "I believe I can provide my experience to help Mark", Bugner said. Bugner retired from competitive boxing in 1999.
De Mori is unbeaten after four professional contests in Queensland and is the first heavyweight from WA in 50 years to win an interstate bout. "Mark will run out of opponents in Australia, so will have to seek more competition overseas", Bugner said.
